There's a small rebel base that still crafts a handmade, wood-fired baked bagel. The shop keeper explains they they first boiled in honey water who'd know that...was a thing to obtain the shiny sweet flavour before they top them and toss into their authentic wood fire oven giving it that perfect bagel texture. If you're in the market at the right time, you'll spot a supply truck literally unloading an entire lot of wood in front of their shop before they hand pack it into the front room. A distinctive way to show off you're serious about bagels and surely one of rare places not only in Toronto to get a great bagel, but really anywhere outside of Montreal or New York. We'll let those two battle it out while I try to pick which cream cheese. Takeout; There was no smoked salmon in the salmon spread, just a few salmon colored bits in a spinach dip. Might have been mis-labelled....The red pepper dip should be called 'memories of red peppers'. My only allergy is to mold mould. I had reactions to both dips. Customers are too polite to mention anything or complain. Very nice people work there. Suggestion to punters Aside from the bagels if you like them. Make your own cream cheese spread. It is not so hard, look up the recipe on the internet. Just use cream cheese and put stuff on it.
